MCF Volunteer News 7/5

We are ready for help!
Here's what our current needs are:

Mondays, Tuesday & Thursday
help with any & all aspects of making shares
start 7am-finish normally by 6-7pm
you are not obligated to stay all day
hats or hairnets are required in any area that we handle the produce - we have hairnets and plastic gloves-only adult sizes, no children sizes

When working in the "prep area" you handle a lot of produce that needs to be washed-bunched, bagged, counted, sorted-and you're clothes often get wet-shoes too. So you may want to bring a change of clothes and shoes you do not mind getting wet.

Volunteers with small children-I let every parent decide if you think your children are able to come & help. If they are at the age that you need to supervise then please know that although the farm can be a fun place, it is not the place for small children to be left unattended. If your more looking for a farm visit instead of working then no worries we'll have other farm tours and other projects suited for young children.

For example Sunday 7/12 we are having a volunteer day for a big garlic pull.  We'll start at 10am break for burgers at noon and then be wrapped up by  4pm. This is the type of volunteer work I think most small children and adults will be able to do together.

another kid friendly harvest project will be potatoes and I'll let you know when that happens as well.

Hats, sunscreen, gloves, boots or comfortable shoes you don't mind getting dirty. Snacks-something to drink, a change of clothes are all good things to pack.

There's going to be lots of different needs this season and we need all the hands we can get so I hope to see you here on the farm.
